TROY, Ala. – Following an extremely successful home weekend at the Doc Anderson Invitational, the Troy track and field program heads to the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn on Saturday at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.
The Trojans are coming off their first home meet in five seasons. They brought home 12 first-place finishes and 37 total podium finishes. Headlining the weekend was Tydreke Thomas, with three event wins in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay.
Cole Stewart had a remarkable showing in the men's javelin, where he took home first place with a PR mark of 70.08m. That showing won him the Sun Belt Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, as voted on by SBC coaches. It's the second honor for a Trojan this season after Thomas won the track award on March 20.
