Indoor: Competed in the weight throw… Placed 6th at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker with a mark of 15.59m… Recorded a personal best of 16.48m at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships
Outdoor: Competed in the hammer throw and discus… Set a personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.67m to earn fifth place at the 2024 Tiger Track Classic… Set a personal best in the discus throw at the Penn Relays with a mark of 44.85m… Placed first in the discus throw with a mark of 43.39m at the Troy Doc Anderson Invitational… Earned second place in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.43m and third place in the discus throw with a mark of 42.37m at the UAB Spring Invitational… Placed ninth in the discus throw at the Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a mark of 43.96… Recorded ten top 10 finishes this outdoor season
Marshall (2019-2022)
2020-21 (Sophomore): Set a pair of personal records at the end of the season in the hammer and discus at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, both of which earned her an 8th place finish … her hammer mark of 172 ft. 3 in. and her discus PR of 146 ft. 9 in. are both the 5th best in school history … earned six top-five finishes throughout the season … set a personal best in the weight throw at the Marshall Invitational (49 ft. 9 in.) … named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and awarded the C-USA Academic Medal for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
2019-20 (Freshman): Competed in every meet during the shortened season for the Thundering Herd, predominately in the weight throw and shot put … set season-bests in the shot and weight at the Marshall Invitational, where in the shot she finished 7th (11.57m/37 ft. 11.5 in.) and 8th in the weight (14.25m/46 ft. 9 in.) … named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and awarded the C-USA Academic Medal for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better … Outdoor season canceled due to Covid-19.
High School: Attended Scott High School in Madison, West Virginia… Holds school record in shot put and discus… state championship for discus in 2019 and state championship for shot put in 2016… also played basketball
Personal: Born January 20, 2001, to Brandon and Beth Burns… Has three siblings Anna, Lauren, and Kate… Father played college baseball at West Virginia State University and Alice Lloyd College… Received her bachelor’s degree in geology and is an avid rock lover… Has done geology research in Greenland and studied abroad in Spain and England… Currently pursuing an MBA in General Management
