Women’s Basketball Invites Oakwood for Matinee Matchup

TROY, Ala. – Still on the best start in Division-I history, the Troy women's basketball program returns to the confines of Trojan Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 10, for a matinee matchup with Oakwood (12 p.m.).
The Trojans (8-1) welcome the Ambassadors (5-4) back for the second straight season after a 109-47 victory on Dec. 4, 2024. It also marks the final women's basketball game in Trojan Arena for 2025, as they enter 4-0. The next home game is against Texas State on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026.

To keep its best start in Division I rolling, the Trojans had to overcome a 23-point deficit to Longwood last Wednesday in Farmville, Va. Troy trailed by 23, 46-23, 17 minutes into the ballgame. After seven points in two minutes for Ngnawo before the break, the Trojans stormed back in the second half, outscoring the Lancers 51-32 to win 86-83. Ngnawo ended the game with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds for her second straight double-double.
Ngnawo and Zay Dyer continue to be dominant in the paint for the Trojans and rank in the top-10 in the SBC for blocks and rebounds. Ngnawo sits fourth in blocks (1.7) and rebounds (7.9), while Dyer is seventh (1.2) and first (12.4), respectively – Dyer also sits third in the nation for rebounds. After leading the league in double-doubles last season with 18, she again sits atop the rankings at five.
The lone meeting between the programs saw Troy dominate with a 62-point victory, 109-47. The Trojans shot 45.6 percent from the field and held the Ambassadors to 29.8 percent. Troy had six players end with double-digits in the scoring column, including returners Dyer (14), Ashley Baez (11), Leilani Guion (13) and Emani Jenkins (10), combining for 48 points.
Scouting Oakwood
Oakwood jumped above .500 with a 79-74 win over Washington Adventist off a 26-point showing from Saniya Keys and 22 points by Kamaria Murray – Keys also had 18 rebounds. The pair combined for 16-of-33 from the field. Murray leads the Ambassadors this season at 17.3 points per game, followed by Keys at 16.3.
