TROY, Ala. – Troy women's basketball, led by head coach Chanda Rigby, adds its eighth newcomer for the 2026-27 roster via Riana Callihan from Miami Dade College.
"Riana adds both size and athleticism to our post group," Rigby said. "We know that she will be a special rim protector for us. We also have high expectations for what she can contribute to our efforts to lead the nation in rebounding for the 10th consecutive year."
The St. Petersburg, Fla. native became the third transfer and eighth overall signing for the 2026-27 season, joining Hannah Smith, Jamonica Chambers, Aniya Finger, Kimora Hughes, Maliyah Meeks, Taliah Martin, and Tiauna King for the newest class.
Callihan started her collegiate basketball journey at Santa Fe College, where she played 23 games with five starts for six points, four rebounds and 1.3 blocks. She debuted against Pensacola State before erupting for her first double-digit performance the next day with 12 points. She went on to score in double-figures five times, with her season-high of 16 coming against Hillsborough CC on eight free throws – her season-high 11 rebounds gave Callihan her first career double-double against Hillsborough. The 6-4 center also had multiple blocks in seven games, tying her career-high of four against St. Petersburg (2x), Eastern Florida State and her eventual team, Miami Dade College.
Entering her sophomore season, Callihan remained in the FCSAA but headed to the Sharks of Miami Dade. As a Shark, Callihan started 21 of her 29 games, averaging eight points, eight rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.8 blocks.
