TROY, Ala. – Emani Jenkins shattered Troy's single-game record for triples in a game with 10 to lead the Troy women's basketball program in a 132-62 win over Oakwood on Wednesday afternoon in Trojan Arena. Troy also broke its program records for points (132), 3-pointers (20) and assists (36).
On top of the record-breaking performance, Jenkins became the first Trojan with a 30-point performance (31) since Ja'Mia Hollings on March 25, 2024, against FIU, boosting Troy's historic D-I start to 9-1.
The Trojans shot 20-of-35 (57.1 percent) from behind the arc to set a new single-game record for triples, breaking the previous mark of 16 set Dec. 14, 1995, against Jacksonville State. Jenkins posted career highs in points (31), assists (3), field goals made (10) and 3-pointers made (10) – Jennifer Edgar held the previous individual 3-point record, set Feb. 8, 1992, against UT Martin. Lana Koricanac added career-highs in points (19), rebounds (7), field goals made (7) and triples (4) off the bench, while Ashley Baez (17), Leilani Guion (14), Rachel Leggett (13), Fortuna Ngnawo (11) and Detavia Salter (11) also scored in double-figures.
Oakwood (5-5) trailed from the start as Trenisha Adams led the team with 18 points on six triples. Alecia Reasor and Jay'len Thomas also had 10 points each, but combined for 7-of-21. The Ambassadors shot 32.8 percent from the field, while the Trojans ended at 57.6 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent from deep with 20 triples and a record-breaking 36 assists – the previous high was 35 against Chicago State on Jan. 20, 1997.
Records… Broken
Jenkins claimed the Division I record for 3-pointers in a game with 8:42 remaining in the fourth quarter and later surpassed the Troy program record with 4:22 left when she connected for her ninth triple off a pass from Kamesha Moore.
She extended her own record on the next possession with her 10th 3-pointer off an assist from Guion and helped Troy break the team single-game record for 3-pointers with 17 at that point.
Koricanac capped off the historic afternoon for Troy. After a Salter hook shot with 3:15 on the clock, 121-58, the freshman forward scored three straight triples and a tip-in layup to push Troy to a program-record 132 points and secure the 70-point victory. Her final 3-pointer also delivered Troy's 36th assist of the game from Guion.
Troy From the Start
Both sides exchanged a bucket in the first 30 seconds, before Troy took control with 9:23 left in the first with an and-one by Baez. The lead remained at one until Jenkins and Baez went back-to-back from deep for a 13-6 lead with 7:37 on the clock.
After a second-chance free throw from Oakwood, Troy launched a 7-0 burst off a Ngnawo fastbreak jumper, a triple from Guion and a fastbreak lay-in by Koricanac to push the advantage to 13, 20-7, with 5:40 left. Troy ballooned the lead to 20 points by the end of the first, 37-17, as Jenkins went back-to-back with deep balls. The assists went to Moore and Baez, respectively.
Over the first 5:31 of the second quarter, Troy held Oakwood to zero points while scoring 18 of its own for a 38-point advantage, 55-17. The run started with a steal from Zay Dyer, where she dished it to Baez for a fastbreak layup with 9:14 left, and ended with 5:40 left on a steal from Shakirah Edwards that found Guion for the lay-in. Troy saw Baez (4), Jenkins (3), Ngnawo (7), Leggett (2) and Guion (2) score on the 18-0 run in the quarter.
The Trojans finished the first half with a 40-point lead, 70-30, with their third first half with 60-plus points (Missouri, Texas Southern) in 2025-26. Troy ended the first half shooting 56 percent from the floor and 43.8 percent from deep, with nine different players scoring.
Head Coach Chanda Rigby
"What a day in Trojan Arena. A record-breaking day in Trojan Arena with a ton of support and all those cheering kids. It was great the way the team played. And I say that not because of the records broken today, but rather that the most crucial game of the semester is our next one against Old Dominion in conference play. We encouraged them not to look ahead to that game, but to focus on this one. And we did that. Everyone was focused, and our bench came out and did well, including Lana and Detavia. We always strive for 120 points, so that was a special feeling. But to get the most points in a game is truly something special, along with the most 3-pointers in a game. I'm just rejoicing in my heart for Emani. She's truly one of the best shooters in the nation. And she went out there and broke that record, handily. I'm so proud of her. And I'm just happy to be a Trojan today."
Emani Jenkins
"Before the game, I had it mapped out that I wanted to break a record. I feel so good right now to help my team. It might not seem like it now, but it overwhelmed me when it went in. I know I made my family proud, and it was so incredible to do that."
