Brantley Scott Leads Troy on Final Day of Augusta/Haskins Award Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Brantley Scott shot a 2-under 70 to lead Troy in Sunday's final round of the Augusta/Hawkins Award Invitational at the Forest Hills Golf Club. Troy dropped a spot on the leaderboard and finished in 14^th place.

The loaded field at the event featured five teams ranked inside the top 26 nationally, five players ranked in the top 15 of the latest PGA Tour University Rankings and four players ranked in the top 15 of the latest Clippd Rankings.

Scott climbed nine spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 30^th place following his seventh round under par this season. Starting on No. 10, he made the turn at 1-over par but immediately went into the red with birdies on the first and second before a bogey on the third moved him to even. He stayed that way for five more holes before a three on the par-5 ninth closed out his day.

Troy shot 1-over on the day, its best round by 11 shots on the week, but fell one spot behind Mercer, which shot 6-under as a team. North Carolina maintained its 36-hole lead at the top of the leaderboard and defeated Texas by six shots for the team title, while Oklahoma State and Illinois rounded out the top four.

Jake Springer finished the week with a round of even par after he carded three birdies, two on the front nine, en route to a tie for 37^th place overall. Gage Carnes and George Burch tied for 56^th lace at 10-over par for the week after rounds of 73 and 74, respectively, while Laurenz Kubin finished 75^th overall at 25-over par.

Troy wraps its regular season next week at the Mossy Oak Collegiate, hosted by Mississippi State.
