TROY, Ala. – Troy fired a 6-under second round and sits in second place following Monday's opening two rounds of the Irish Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by App State at The Club at Irish Creek.

Three of Troy's counting bags shot in the red in the afternoon session as the Trojans climbed three spots following the opening 18 on the par-71 course. Thomas Crane and Lee Poppell each shot 68 in round two, while Pablo Gracia added a 69. The trio combined for 16 birdies on their second trip through the course.

Gracia is the clubhouse leader for the Trojans in a tie for third after he shot even in the morning on three birdies and three bogeys. Crane is two shots back in a tie for 13th place and Poppell is tied for 16th at 1-over for the day.

Catawba, the No. 9 ranked team at the NCAA DII ranks, sits at the top of the team leaderboard at 6-under, eight shots ahead of Troy. The Trojans are a shot clear of Old Dominion and App State, while Presbyterian is 10 shots back in fifth.

Lawton Emblom is tied for 22nd place at 3-over following a three-birdie day, and his brother Haston, is tied for 47th place at 7-over, with five birdies on his card. Troy's two individuals, Grant Yerger and Pierce Becker, had solid days finishing tied for 27th and 32nd, respectively.

Troy finished the day with 30 birdies, second-most in the field, and just one double-bogey, the fewest in the field by three. Individually, Poppell shot 3-under on the par 4s, tied for best in the field, while Crane's eight birdies are tied for the third most.

Troy will play in the lead group for Tuesday's final round along with Catawba, Old Dominion and App State, beginning on hole one at 8 a.m. (CT).
