Women’s Tennis Welcomes Coastal Carolina for Regular Season Finale

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team closes out its regular season at home on Friday morning as it welcomes Coastal Carolina for an 11 a.m. first serve at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (14-6, 8-2 SBC) is in the midst of a seven-match winning streak, the longest in the program's history since joining the Sun Belt in 2004. The Trojan's eight SBC wins are also the most since joining the conference.
Gabrielle Leslie continues to lead the way, posting a 17-1 record in singles play this spring, including a 7-1 in SBC play. Freshman Leena Metwally has been as impressive, going 14-4 in singles since the start of match play. Sophomore Maria Guirguis has been dominant on court three with a 10-2 record en route to an overall record of 12-8.
The Trojans are 72-42 in singles this season and have swept all six courts in both of their home matches last weekend.
In doubles, they have been equally dominant during their win streak. Troy has won the doubles point in its last seven matches and is now 11-0 this season when jumping out to a 1-0 lead.
The duo of Metwally and Hagar Ramadan-Amin have been undefeated in doubles during the spring season – 7-0. Also having a good doubles season has been Kristina Kukaras and Emilio Namyslo, who are 4-1 in SBC matches.
Scouting Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleers are 13-7 (7-3 SBC) this season and are coming off a strong 4-3 win over James Madison on Saturday in Harrisonburg.
Leading the charge for Coastal Carolina in singles has been Jesse Hollins with a team-high 14 wins. Kata Foldeak has also had a strong season, going 13-5. In doubles, Hollins and Anna Babyan have an impressive 13-6 record, with all matches coming on court one.
