Women’s Tennis Hosts ULM and Arkansas State

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team welcomes ULM and Arkansas State to the Lunsford Tennis Complex for the final weekend of regular season competition at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Troy (12-6, 6-2 SBC) is riding a five-match winning streak after taking down Texas State and Louisiana on the road last weekend. The strong play has moved Troy into a tie for third in the conference standings with three matches left to play. With one more win over its last three matches, Troy will set its program record for most conference wins since joining the Sun Belt.
A key to Troy's win streak has been its impressive doubles play and ability to get ahead and stay ahead. The Trojans have won the doubles point in each of the last five matches and are 9-0 this season when taking a 1-0 lead. The doubles pairing of Leena Metwally and Hagar Ramadan-Amin has won five doubles matches in a row. As a team, the Trojans are 23-23 in doubles.
In singles, the Trojans continue to impress. Ramadan-Amin has clinched the team victory from court two in each of the last three matches. She is 8-9 (4-4 SBC) overall this spring. Gabrielle Leslie continues to be Troy's win leader. She is 15-1 this spring and has won four consecutive matches.
Metwally sits behind Leslie in the team rankings with 12 wins. The Egyptian freshman has played in every match this season. Maria Guirguis is 10-8 in the spring, including 8-2 from the number three spot. The Trojans have won over 58 percent of their singles matches, compiling a 60-42 record.
On Sunday, Troy will recognize outgoing seniors Kristina Kukaras and Olivia Elliott and their years of contribution to the university and program during a senior day ceremony prior to the match.
Scouting ULM
ULM enters Saturday's contest with a 1-16 (0-8 SBC) record. After starting the season 1-0, they have lost their last 16 matches.
The Warhawks are led by Angela Del Campo Suarez and her 4-6 record.
Scouting Arkansas State
The Red Wolves have a 7-12 (1-7 SBC) record and have lost six matches in a row. Anna Grigoreva leads the way with an 8-5 spring record, coming primarily out of the number two spot.
Sarah Millard and Yasmine Humbert also have eight wins a piece.
