Troy Softball Hosts ULM for Weekend Series

TROY, Ala- Troy prepares to welcome the ULM Warhawks to the Troy Softball Complex from Friday through Sunday to continue Sun Belt Play. The three-game series will be broadcast on ESPN+ and live stats will be available at TroyTrojans.com. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Friday 3:33 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.
The Trojans (27-15, 7-5 SBC) will look to bounce back after a tough series loss to No. 23 Texas State and ACC foe Georgia Tech last week.
Jade Sinness and Libby Baker headline Troy's high-powered offense with a .372 and .358 clip respectively. The senior duo accounts for 92 hits, 16 home runs and 71 RBIs on the season.
Two-way Baker also leads the pitching staff with 106 innings worth of work, while bolstering a 3.57 ERA and 48 strikeouts. Fellow senior Haley Pittman ranks second on the squad with a 3.75 ERA, while punching out 47 batters.
This will be the 56th matchup between the ULM Warhawks (25-15, 8-4 SBC) and the Trojans. Troy holds the lead in the all-time series at 36-19. The Warhawks are ranked third in the conference after picking up series wins over Southern Miss, Georgia Southern and Marshall.
Carsy Platt leads the Warhawks from the dish with a .387 batting average and .880 OPS. She is one of two players for ULM to compete in all 40 games. She leads the club with 48 hits and ranks third in the squad with 14 RBIs.
Maddie Nichols heads up the pitching staff for ULM. Nichols bolsters a 2.61 ERA on 99.1 innings worth of work. The sophomore pitcher has struck out 93 batters.
