TROY, Ala. – With a combination of six home games and a pair of Power-4 road trips, the Troy softball team released its 2027 Fall Ball schedule.
"The team is eager to kick off an exciting and highly competitive fall schedule," head coach Eric Newell said. "We're thrilled to host six home games while also hitting the road to take on two perennial NCAA Division I Top 25 programs. Every game presents an opportunity to test ourselves against strong competition and continue building the chemistry, confidence, and experience that will prepare us for the spring season."
The eight-game stretch opens with a trio of home games, starting on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 5:30 p.m. against Wallace State CC-Hanceville. Then, the Trojans invite Gadsden State CC on Friday, Oct. 2, at 4:30 p.m. before taking on Northwest Florida on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m.
Troy pauses its homestand by traveling to Joanne Graf Field to face the reigning ACC champs, Florida State (Saturday, Oct. 10 – 1 p.m.), whose season went to the Tallahassee Regional Final before falling to UCF.
A home date with AUM on Friday, Oct. 16, at 4:30 p.m. prepares the Trojans for their second Power-4 matchup against Georgia on Sunday, Oct. 18, at noon. The Bulldogs hosted the Athens Regional in 2026, advancing to the Knoxville Super Regional after a 41-20, 12-12 SEC record brought them to the SEC semifinal round.
Fall ball concludes with a pair of Troy Softball Complex events against Central Alabama CC (Oct. 21) and Gulf Coast (Oct. 28), wrapping up an eight-game schedule.
"With the core of last year's team returning, we made it a priority to assemble a challenging fall slate that would push us to compete at a high level from day one," Newell said. "We believe this schedule will do exactly that, providing valuable opportunities to elevate our game as we continue to push toward our goals together."
