TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball program, led by head coach Eric Newell, continues to bolster the 2027 roster with Southern Miss transfer Jadyn Rausch.
"The decision to add Jadyn to our roster was an easy one," Newell said. "She attended one of the strongest high school programs under head coach Sharon Cherry at Houston Academy, so we know she is a winner and will compete at a high level. That said, what stood out the most to our coaching staff was her versatility and athleticism defensively to play any position on the field."
Rausch becomes the fourth transfer added to the 2027 roster, joining Emma King, Avery Adcock and Bre Hughes. Overall, she's the eighth newcomer, alongside Ellie Cox, Alivia Cooper, Anna Jo Bonds and Mariah Harrison.
As a freshman, Rausch checked into 15 games with Southern Miss, scoring five runs against Louisiana Tech, Louisiana, James Madison, Georgia Southern and South Alabama. Before playing for the Golden Eagles, the catcher/utility player competed at Houston Academy in Dothan, Ala. While a Raider, she led her team to a pair of first-place and runner-up finishes in the regional tournament – Rausch also won the 2025 PGF National Championship with Unity Johnson/Meadows. She peaked in her senior season with a .453 batting average, a .508 on-base percentage, 57 RBIs and a .997 fielding percentage as a catcher. Across her four years, she totaled 174 RBIs.
