No. 72 Troy Men’s Tennis Wins Fifth Straight

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – No. 72 Troy defeated Youngstown State, 5-2, Thursday afternoon as the two teams met in Clarksville, Tenn., for the neutral site contest. The Trojans won the doubles point and claimed wins on 4-of-6 singles courts.

No. 71 Mario Martinez Serrano moved to 15-0 on the season on court one with a 6-4, 6-3 victory, Luciano Alcocer won his fifth straight match, moving to 7-1 on the year in dual matches, while Yeray Andres Pastor and Noah Martens ran their win streaks to four.

Martens played up on court two for the second straight match and third time this season and walked away with a 6-1, 6-4 victory for the Trojans (13-2). Alcocer cruised to a 6-2, 7-5 win on court six, while Pastor improved to 11-2 with a 6-3, 6-1 win on court five.

Troy won the doubles point for the 13^th time this season, with victories on courts two and three.

The Trojans host Tennessee State on Monday at 11 a.m. before opening Sun Belt play next weekend at Old Dominion and James Madison.
