Women’s Tennis Falls to App State, 4-0

BOONE, N.C. – The Troy women's tennis team had no answer for App State's strong play on Sunday, as the Mountaineers downed the Trojans 4-0 at the Deer Valley Racquet Club.
Troy (7-6, 1-2 SBC) was unable to get anything going on Sunday morning, as it dropped the doubles point for the seventh consecutive match to fall behind 1-0. Troy moves to 3-6 on the season when its opponent gets the first point.
App State (8-5, 2-1 SBC) recorded a 6-0 win in the No. 2 doubles spot to get action started. The Trojans responded with a 6-4 win from Hagar Ramadan-Amin and Leena Metwally in the No. 3 spot. App State clinched the point with a 6-4 win in the top spot.
In singles, App State continued to roll. The Mountaineers took a 2-0 lead with a 6-4, 7-5 win in the No. 2 spot. They got to within one point of the match victory with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot.
The match was clinched by App State on Court 1 with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win.
The remaining three singles matches went unfinished.
