Men’s Golf Climbs Two Spots on Final Day of Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Teams battled high scores across the golf course in Tuesday's final round of the Seminole Intercollegiate at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course, but Troy managed the conditions and moved up two spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for ninth in a loaded field.

Jake Springer led the charge for the Trojans on Tuesday carding three birdies en route to a 2-over 74, his best effort of the week. Springer made the turn at 1-over but quickly jumped to 3-over with a double on the par-4 first before ending with a birdie on the par-4 ninth.

Troy shot 16-over on the day as a team, good enough to jump High Point and move into a tie with North Alabama for ninth overall. Ole Miss rallied past Florida State for the team title, while VCU, Indiana and Arkansas rounded out the top five.

Brantley Scott dropped in a pair of birdies on the 14^th and ninth as he shot 4-over on the day and finished tied with Springer for 32^nd place, while Nick Fowlkes and Pablo Gracia shot 77 in the final round and tied for 45^thplace. Lee Poppell wrapped up his week with a 9-over and finished tied for 76^th place.
