Troy Sees Success at Vulcan Invite

Troy Track and Field saw success at the Vulcan Invite with 15 top ten finishes spanning multiple events, with five podium finishes Saturday evening at the Birmingham Crossplex.
On the track, Tydreke Thomas saw the top step of the podium for the Trojans when he ran a 6.72 in the men's 60m. He was followed by fellow Trojan Evan Brown, who ran a 6.90 for a sixth-place finish.
Men's and women's shot put both had an excellent showing at the Vulcan Invite, with second-place finishes on both sides of the event. Altwayne Bedward threw a 16.70 m for his medal, while Biniosa Ezukuse threw a new indoor personal best of 14.92m, to each place second. Joy Edward and Abby Grosinske also rounded out the women's top ten with throws of 13.63 and 12.71 to finish fifth and ninth, respectively.
The women continued to succeed in the throws as four Trojans finished in the top 10. Ezukuse led the way with third-place finish on a throw of 17.06 m. She was followed by Leah Kennedy, Brooke Burns and Grosinke, who threw a 16.18m, 15.75 and 15.38 to finish fifth, eighth and ninth, respectively.
Rounding out the field events, Camryn Pettus saw a second-place finish in the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.44.
Other top ten finishes saw Cadi Rowe finish sixth in the women's 3,000m. Martin Bouldo finished seventh in both the Men's 500m and 600m, with Chance Armstrong joining Bouldo in the 600m and crossing the line ninth. The evening concluded with the men's 4x400 meter relay crossing the finish line fifth.
