Troy Track and Field Takes on Samford Clash

TROY, Ala- Troy Track and Field take on Samford in a pair of meets as they are set to compete in the Samford Multi and the Samford Clash at the Birmingham Crossplex starting on January 18.

Troy will look to continue its strong showing after the successful weekend at the Vulcan Invite in its third meet of the season.

In the Samford Multis, Alejandra Gutierrez Fuente and Kady Schwietz are set to compete in the Pentathlon for the Trojans.

Last week at the Vulcan Invite, the Trojans saw success across multiple categories, including women's shot put and weight throw, women's triple jump, men's shot put and men's 60 meters. Â

With a first-place finish at the Vulcan Invite, Tydreke Thomas is set to race in the men's 60m. Thomas took home the Trojans' lone gold with a time of 6.72 and setting a new personal record.

Biniosa Ezukuse led the women in the shot put and the weight throw by picking up a second and third-place finish with throws of 14.92m and 17.06m, respectively.

In the triple jump, Camryn Pettus came off a second-place finish last week at the Vulcan Invite. She will look to build off last week's finish.

Cadi Rowe is also set to take on the Samford Clash. She will run in the women's 3,000 and the one mile. Last week at the Vulcan Invite, Rowe finished sixth in the women's 3,000 at 10:13.48.
