Troy Tallies Multiple Top-10 Finishes at Birmingham Ice Breaker

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Troy Track & Field opened its 2025-26 indoor campaign on a strong note Friday, posting several top-10 performances at the Birmingham Ice Breaker.
In her Trojan debut, Chicago State transfer Rachel Whyte led the way with a win in the women's 300 meters, clocking 39.59. Aaliyah Murphy followed closely behind with a sixth-place finish in 40.29.
In the field events, Kristianna Ware recorded a personal-best mark of 11.75 meters to place fourth in the women's triple jump, while freshman Malik Humphrey turned in a strong debut with a 14.52-meter effort to finish sixth in the men's triple jump.
On the track, Haley Wilson added another top finish for Troy, placing fifth in the 400 meters (57.96) before teaming up with Zoe Smith, Jasmine Jimenez and Whyte to take third in the 4x400-meter relay (3:53.98).
On the men's side, Dawson Isbell notched a seventh-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.51, while Jonas Koturenka placed sixth in the 1,000 meters at 2:30.45.
The Trojans capped the meet with another podium relay finish, as the men's 4x400-meter squad of Isbell, Devyn Pearman, Kasahn Rivers and Christian Buzzard crossed the line in 3:21 to secure third overall.
