Rawia Elsisi Wins 100th Career Match Over Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. – With a 4-3 triumph over Arkansas State on Friday afternoon, head coach Rawia Elsisi claimed her 100^th career victory at the A-State Tennis Complex.

A fifth straight victory for the Trojans (13-5, 6-3 SBC) marks the most conference wins in a row in since they had four in 2012-13. The Red Wolves (2-15, 0-9 SBC) drop their ninth straight conference match as they head into the final two matches in search of their first SBC victory.

Troy quickly grabbed the first point, 1-0, after sweeping the competition in doubles as Valeriia Avdeeva / Andrea Widing and Franziska Ahrend / Maria Guirguis captured 6-4 and 6-3 victories, respectively.

The gap widened for the Trojans, 3-0, on courts three and six via Avdeeva and Ahrend. First, Avdeeva ended a three-match losing streak by sweeping her opponent 6-2, 6-4. Ahrend wasn't far behind with her fifth win in the last six singles matches, 6-1, 6-4.

Before Troy could clinch the match, the Red Wolves roared back with back-to-back victories, 3-2. On court one, Kukaras fell 6-2, 6-2 before Hagar Ramadan-Amin dropped 6-4, 6-2 on court two.

Olivia Elliott, who has struggled through her last 10 matches with a 3-5 record, finished the job on court five. After dominating Abigail Thurmer in the first set, 6-3, the junior repeated the result to secure Rawia's 100^thvictory at Troy, 4-2.
