LITTLE ROCK – On the strength of the fourth-lowest round in school history, Troy is in second place following the opening two rounds of the Little Rock Invitational as played opened Monday at the Chenal Country Club.

Troy fired an 8-under 280 as a club in the second round as all four Trojan counters were under par. It is Troy's lowest round since a 9-under 279 in the fall of 2014 at The Intercollegiate and just four shots off the school record.

Will McFadden leads a quartet of Trojans in the top 20 thanks to back-to-back rounds of 2-under, which pushes his season total to 6-of-11 rounds under par. He is tied for third place after carding four birdies in each of the two rounds.

Freshman standout Brantley Scott fired his fifth round under par on the year with a 2-under 70 in the afternoon session after shooting even in the opening round; he is tied for 10^th place. George Burch, who made his debut last week, torched the front nine with six birdies in the second round en route to a 3-under 69 in a round that included eight total birdies. He is tied for 13^th place at 1-under after shooting a 74 in the first round.

Troy trails host Little Rock by five shots heading into Tuesday's final round. The Trojans have a four-shot advantage on Lamar and UTEP, while North Texas and Boise State are nine shots back in a tie for fifth.

Jake Springer is tied for 20^th place after going 1-over in the opening round and 1-under in the second round, while Raegan Harrell is in 76^th place at 9-over.

Teams will play a shotgun start again on Tuesday, beginning at 8 a.m. Troy is paired with Little Rock and Lamar with the threesomes starting on holes one thru three.
