TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's golf team is back in action this week with a trip to the Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark., for the Little Rock Invitational.
The Trojans are looking to bounce back from a tough performance last week at the GSU Invitational where they finished 13th overall. Despite the overall team performance, a pair of Trojans stood out in the event with freshman Brantley Scott and sophomore George Burch shooting under par.
Scott shot 6-under for the tournament to lower his season stroke average to 72.11 over his first nine collegiate rounds, which includes four rounds under par and three in the 60s. The GSU Invitational was the first of the year for Burch, and he enters the week leading Troy with a -0.33 score vs. par after shooting 1-under last week.
Will McFadden is tied with Scott with four rounds under par on the year and carries a 72.44 stroke average into the week after leading the Troy in the first two events of the year. Jake Springer will make his fourth start of the year while Reagan Harrell will make his second appearance and first in the lineup.
The Trojans have been strong in opening rounds with a 292.67 average as a team, including one of two team rounds under par.
Play opens with 36 holes on Monday on the 7,115-yard course before wrapping with 18 holes Sunday.
