TROY, Ala. – Will McFadden registered his second top-10 performance of the season to lead the Troy men's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Little Rock Invitational, which ended play Tuesday at the Chenal Country Club.

McFadden closed out the week with a 4-over 76 after shooting 2-under in each of the first two rounds to settle his card at even-par for the tournament, good for a tie for 10^th place overall. The junior has now led the Trojans in three of their four fall events, with six of his 12 rounds played in the red.

Jake Springer had a solid week on the par 5s, playing them to a collective 7-under par, the eighth-best mark in the field, while George Burch's 14 birdies on the week tied for the fourth-most in the field.

Burch tied for 13^th place in his second tournament of the fall, shooting 1-over for the week after carding a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. Springer turned in the best finish of his young Troy career as he tied for 15^th place at 2-over for the week following a 74 in the final round.

Troy finished just seven shots off a second-place finish and just four shots back of ULM for third. Little Rock, playing on its home course, won by 17 shots over second-place Lamar.

Brantley Scott was even following 15 holes on Tuesday but ended the day with a pair of bogeys and a triple to push his card to 5-over and his standing on the leaderboard into a tie for 23^rd position. Reagan Harrell rounded out the field for the Trojans in a tie for 81^st place.

The Trojans wrap up their fall schedule next week at the Black Creek Golf Club in Chattanooga, Tenn., for the Battle at Black Creek.
