Â
Troy, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's cross country teams will continue postseason action on Friday as both teams will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to race in the NCAA Division I South Regionals. The women's 6k race is set for a 7:30 am (CT) start with the men's ten-kilometer hike slated for 8:30 a.m. (CT) at Apalachee Regional Park.Â
Â
Troy will send 10 athletes in total to compete in the highly-competitive race – five men and five women. The 10 athletes mark the smallest lineup Troy has sent to compete in a race this season.Â
Â
Senior Krystin Guirey, who has set her personal best in her last three races, will lead the women at host Florida State. Sophomore duo of Michaela Ashley and Kara Coulter will join Guirey in hoisting the Troy uniform. Coulter turned in a top-three Troy finish at the Sun Belt Championships on Oct. 27, placing 35th in the 5k race. Rounding out the Trojans are freshmen Tanner Guest and Caroline Sall who both have had outstanding freshman campaigns. Both Sall and Guest have led the Trojans in at least two races this season, including Guest pacing Troy at the SBC Championships in 18th-place.
Â
The women will race against 37 teams including No. 21 Florida, No. 23 Ole Miss, No. 29 Georgia and No. 30 Georgia Tech. Florida is coming off a second-place finish at the SEC Championships with Ole Miss following behind in third.Â
Â
The men will send all four seniors for this meet – Brennan Garriques, Sawyer Sprung, Brackin Stewart and Bradley Dixon. Garriques and Sprung are coming off 14th- and 15th-place finishes at the Sun Belt Championship 8k respectively, earning All-Sun Belt Third Team honors. Stewart followed right behind the third team duo, crossing the finish line in 16th. Junior Bradley Dixon will complete the Trojan lineup for the meet.Â
Â
The men are set to race against 31 teams highlighted by No. 21 Ole Miss, who won the SEC Conference team championship and No. 30 Tennessee.
Â
Both races will be broadcast live on NCAA.com for free as well as have live results. For more information on Troy cross country, follow the team on Instagram and Twitter at @TroyTrojansTFXC.Â
