Cross Country Wraps Up Regular Season at FSU XC Invite

TROY, Ala. – Troy cross country travels to Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday, Oct. 9, to conclude its regular season at the FSU XC Invite, running on the Apalachee Regional Park.
"We are excited for our largest meet of the year at FSU on Friday," said head coach Brian Cunningham. "Both teams have a lot of momentum heading into the races, and we look to continue to build upon that. We have traditionally run well on this course, and I think we will continue to have good experiences in Tallahassee this week."
Troy starts the meet with the men's 8K at 7:40 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 8:20 a.m. at the Apalachee Regional Park.

First Win Since 2016
Troy claimed another win in the men's 5K at the Azalea City Classic, marking the first back-to-back overall wins in program history. Riley Treadaway paced the Trojans once again, placing second with a new personal best of 15:15.96. Patterson Graham (15:28.91), Caden Blackman (15:32.40), and Lane Watson (15:34.35) all followed close behind, placing fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively, with Graham and Watson also earning new personal bests. Keith Warner placed ninth with a time of 15:52.39, rounding out the Trojans' scoring five. Pierre Boerkey also placed in the top 10 (10th) with a new personal best of 16:04.82.
Troy earned the runner-up title for the second meet in a row on the women's side, placing second in the 5K at the Azalea City Classic with 45 points. Winny Kosgei led the charge for the Trojans by placing third with a time of 18:29.08 and a new personal best. Other top ten finishers included Abby Jepkemboi (18:59.22), who placed eighth with a new personal best, and Lucy Turley (19:05.31), who placed 10th. Rounding out the scorers for the women's team were two Trojans who earned new personal bests: Pheline Mining, who placed 15th with a time of 19:26.79, and Haley Wilson, who placed 16th at 19:28.99.
