COLLEGE GROVE, Tennessee – Clayton Vannoy sank a trio of birdies in Tuesday's final round of the FAMC Intercollegiate at The Grove to finish second individually, while Troy shot 5-over on the day to climb three spots into a tie for fifth place with No. 3 Georgia.

In addition to tying the third-ranked Bulldogs, No. 65 Troy picked up victories over No. 40 NC State and No. 45 Louisville in the event. The Trojans were the best in the field on the par 3 holes as they combined to shoot 8-over par for the tournament as three Trojans – Luke Moser, Vannoy and Jared Bettcher – were each even over the three rounds.

Vannoy had nine birdies over the course of the tournament and finished three shots back of individual medalist Braden Thornberry from Ole Miss. The Rebels also won the team title as they bested Kennesaw State by six shots.

Bettcher led the Trojans in the final round as he picked up four birdies on the day and turned in a card of 2-under par. The Troy senior climbed 30 spots on the leaderboard with his round in the red and finished in a tie for 13^th place overall.

Cam Norman closed out the tournament with a 4-over 76 to fall into a tie for 35^th place as he carded a pair of birdies on the day. Moser climbed six spots into a tie for 54^th following a 3-over 73 that featured a pair of birdies right out of the shoot, while Calum Masters added three birdies in his final round 76; he finished in a tie for 62^nd place.

Troy will take a few weeks off before traveling to Duluth, Ga., for the annual AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia State.
