TROY, Alabama – The No. 68 Troy men's tennis team continues its tough schedule with two road matches against ACC opponents this weekend. Troy will first travel to take on Miami at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday. Troy will then face No. 29 Florida State on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.
Troy (1-4) has opened the season with matches against five ranked teams, including most recently at No. 2 Oklahoma as part of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Sunday. Troy started that event with a 4-0 win over No. 66 UTSA last Saturday.
The Trojans have also played road matches against No. 36 Louisville, No. 24 Florida and No. 19 Ole Miss.
Miami (1-3) will be the first unranked team that Troy has played, but the Hurricanes are not short on talent. Their lineup features three ranked players in No. 23 Piotr Lomacki, No. 70 Christian Langmo and No. 107 Max Andrews.
The Hurricanes lone win came over Florida Atlantic while their losses have come against St. John's, Alabama and UNCW.
No. 29 Florida State (4-1), like Troy, played in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend last week. The Seminoles lost to host No. 13 USF before beating No. 29 Mississippi State. The Seminoles have two ranked singles players in No. 15 Benjamin Lock and No. 77 Marco Nunez.
Troy and Florida State met in last week's NCAA Championships First Round with the Seminoles winning in Athens, Ga.
