Men’s Tennis Stays at Home for End-of-Week Competitions

TROY, Ala. - With its eleven-match winning streak on the line, Troy men's tennis gets ready to take on Alabama State Thursday afternoon and Georgia Southern Sunday morning.
Troy (18-4) is going into Thursday's matchup with a pair of wins from the weekend. The Trojans defeated Alabama A&M, 6-1, and Southern Miss, 4-2.
The Bulldogs won the advantage point, but the Trojans came back in singles play as they won each of their courts. The Golden Eagles saw similar results in doubles play, earning the advantage point before freshman Ausias Martin Melo, sophomore Hiiro Sakamoto and senior Yeray Andres Pastor completed their courts with straight sets win.
Freshman Stephan Tavares Noale won the clincher on Court 5, giving Troy the overall victory against Southern Miss.
Sunday's competition will see the Trojans continue Sun Belt play, as they are now 2-0 in the conference.
Both matches will take place at the Lunsford Tennis Complex, with Thursday's match set for 1 p.m. and Sunday's match starting at 10 a.m.
