No. 73 Troy Gets Ranked Win on the Road

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The No. 73 Troy men's tennis team picked up a big win, shutting out No. 67 North Florida, 4-0, at the UNF Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon.
Troy (22-6) has won 12 of its last 13 matches and started the latest one with a dominant doubles point. Pablo Moreno and Giovani Samaha started with an 8-3 win at No. 1, and Andy Lau and Gabriel Dias closed out the opening point with an 8-2 win at No. 2.
North Florida (16-6) entered having won six of its last seven matches, but Troy quickly took control in singles action, winning five of the six first sets. Lau put the Trojans up 2-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 over Lasse Muscheites.
Moreno then gave Troy a 3-0 lead with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Zach Goldberg at No. 5. Hassan Ndayishimye clinched the match for the Trojans with a close 7-6 (4), 7-5 win over Yannick Zuern at No. 2.
The Trojans return to the court on Sunday when they host UAB at 12 p.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. The match will be the Trojans' final of the regular season and also mark Senior Day.
