Troy Takes National Ranking on the Road

GREENVILLE, South Carolina – Just days after moving into the ITA National Team Rankings for the first time since 2011, the No. 62 Troy men's tennis team will put its ranking to the test with a pair of road matches this weekend.
Troy will first travel to Furman for a 3 p.m. CT contest on Friday at the Mickel Tennis Center. The Trojans will then travel to Atlanta to take on Emory, the No. 5 ranked NCAA Division III team in the nation, at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday.
Troy (11-5) last played over a week ago when it won on the road at No. 47 South Alabama, 4-3. That win was the first over a ranked team for Troy since 2010 when the Trojans beat No. 33 Denver in the Sun Belt Championship match.
Troy has won 10 of its last 12 matches with the two losses coming by 4-3 final scores against No. 19 Ole Miss and No. 20 Tennessee.
Furman (2-9) hasn't played in nearly two weeks since a February 22 shutout loss at No. 3 Georgia. The Paladins have won their lone home match, beating USC Upstate, 7-0, in late January.
Emory (4-1) is coming off of a loss in the finals of the prestigious ITA National Indoor Championships. The then sixth-ranked Eagles beat No. 9 Carnegie Mellon and No. 5 Washington (Mo.) to advance to the finals before falling to No. 3 Trinity.
