Troy Remains Perfect in Sun Belt Play

TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's tennis team won three of four three-set singles matches and remained perfect in Sun Belt play with a 4-3 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday as part of the Troy Trojans Jamboree at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (10-4, 3-0) easily won the doubles point with a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles and a 6-0 win at No. 2, but singles play was not as easy. Georgia Southern (3-5, 0-1) took a 2-1 lead after wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles in what were the only two straight sets matches of the day.
Anyd Lau tied the match up for Troy as he won over Christian Kerrigan at No 3, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. After the Eagles won a three-set match at No. 5 singles to take a 3-2 lead, Daniel Bustamante got the Trojans back into it with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
Hassan Ndayishimye then won the match for Troy with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. The Trojans moved to 3-0 in Sun Belt play and did so without Gabriel Dias, the 89th-ranked singles player in the nation.
Complete results are below. The Trojans now turn their attention to a pair of Sunday matches. The Trojans will take on South Carolina State at 10 a.m. before hosting No. 20 Tennessee at 2 p.m.
