Trojans Fall at No. 28 Auburn

AUBURN, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team faced its first ranked opponent of the season and fell to No. 28 Auburn, 7-0, at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on Sunday evening.

Troy (2-4) saw its No. 1 doubles team of Trang Huynh and Anja Cosovic fall for the first time this season as the pair lost to Auburn's Paula de Man and Emily Flickinger, 6-4. Prior to the finish of that match, Auburn (10-2) won at No. 3 and No. 2 doubles to clinch the opening point.

In singles play, the Tigers won five of the six matches in straight sets, with Cosovic forcing a super tiebreaker at No. 3 singles for Troy. The junior game back from dropping the first set in a tiebreaker, but lost to Flickinger, 7-6 (2), 5-7, 1-0 (10-4).

Complete results are below. The Trojans return to the court on Tuesday when they host Jacksonville State at the Lunsford Tennis Complex at 2 p.m. The Troy men will also take on Jacksonville State on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
