Trojans Beat Kennesaw State at Home

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team returned home and defeated Kennesaw State, 4-3, on Friday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. The Trojans were up 4-1 before the Owls won two three-set matches to close the contest.
Troy (4-5) has now won two straight after defeating No. 72 Nicholls State last weekend. The Trojans dominated at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take the lead early over Kennesaw State (4-4). Troy won both matches by 8-0 scores.
Brooke Durden extended the lead for Troy with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No 6 singles. Reigning Sun Belt Athlete of the Week Trang Huynh pushed the lead to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1.
After a loss at No. 4 singles, Anja Cosovic clinched the match for Troy at No. 3 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 win. Cosovic is now 7-1 in singles play on the season.
The Owls won at No. 2 and No. 5, both in a super tiebreak, to put the final score at 4-3. Complete results are below.
The Trojans return to the court on Sunday when they host Arkansas State at 12 p.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
