Troy Gears Up for Louisiana

TROY, Ala. – With two matches remaining, the regular season is winding down for Troy women's tennis. The first remaining match comes in the Trojans' final away contest of the regular season against Louisiana.
Troy enters play with a 11-6 (5-0) record and a seven-match win streak. Seniors Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis have played pivotal parts in the success as the duo earned conference Doubles Team of the Week honors on April 2. They continued their success as a pair and individually helping lift Troy past Arkansas State, 4-2 last Saturday.
The pair started the day by topping Lilly Cvanciger and Carla Muro Castellvi, 6-4. On court two, Valeriia Avdeeva swiftly defeated Cvanciger. 6-4, 6-2. Shortly after on court one, Guirguis took down Anna Grigoreva, 6-4, 7-5.
Louisiana enters play with a 12-5 record and are led by Angelique Berrat. The Ragin' Cajuns are looking to bounce back after dropping a match to McNeese on Tuesday, 4-3. Troy's visit to the Cajun Courts marks the end of the regular season for Louisiana.
