TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's tennis teams will close out their regular seasons at home this weekend with three separate matches at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
The Troy women's tennis team will take on Middle Tennessee on Friday at 2:30 p.m. before closing the regular season with No.67 North Texas on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
The Troy men's tennis team will play its regular season finale on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. as they host No.54 Georgia State.
The Troy women (10-7) are coming off of a tough 6-1 loss at Samford on Wednesday, a match that snapped their six-match winning streak. The Trojans are 2-0 in Sun Belt play and looking to move up the ITA rankings in advance of next week's Sun Belt Championships.
The Trojans are led by reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Karoline Grymel who has posted an 11-6 mark in singles play this season and an 11-3 mark in doubles play with Lyubov Dorofeeva. The duo, ranked 89th in this week's ITA doubles rankings, dropped their first match in over a month at Samford on Wednesday.
The Troy men (5-16) will be facing No.__ Georgia State for the second in as many weeks as they fell to the Panthers back on March 31 at the Sun Belt Shootout. The Panthers, who were ranked 71st at the time, won that match 4-1.
The Trojans are led by number one singles player Anas Rouchdi who has posted a 10-10 mark in singles play and a 9-4 mark in doubles play with partner Patrick Eichler.
After this weekend at home, both teams will travel to Denton, Texas for next week's Sun Belt Conference Championships, which begin on Thursday, April 19.
