TROY, Ala. – Both the Troy men's and women's tennis teams will be in action at home on Tuesday as they host Austin Peay. Both matches will begin at the Lunsford Tennis Complex at 2:30 p.m.
The Troy women come into the match after nearly a month since their last match, a 6-1 win over Kennesaw State on Feb. 12. The Trojans (2-4) will look to expand on their current two-game winning streak after starting the season against three ranked opponents.
The Trojans are led by number one singles player Karoline Grymel who has posted a 3-3 record in singles play this season. Lyubov Dorofeeva is also at 3-3 in singles play and had worked her way up to the second spot in the lineup before the long layoff hit.
The Lady Govs (2-7) are also on a two-game winning streak after starting the season winless over the first few weeks. Austin Peay was last on the court on Feb. 25 when they defeated Belmont at home.
The Troy men are coming off of two tight losses in Hattiesburg, Miss., last weekend. The Trojans (1-7) had matches with Southern Miss and Lamar suspended due to rain at critical times in each match.
Troy continued both matches on Sunday but was unable to take the victory in either. The Trojans haven't appeared at home since Feb.12 when they defeated Kennesaw State, 7-0.
The Trojans are led by junior Anas Rouchdi, the only upperclassman on the roster, who is 4-4 in singles play this season, all at the number one spot in the lineup.
The Governors (4-3) won their last contest, a home victory over Lipscomb on Feb. 25.
