STILLWATER, Okla. – With weather diverting matches away from Tulsa, Okla., the Troy men's tennis team finished its run at the ITA All-American Championships in Oklahoma State's facilities. Yeray Andres Pastor and Luciano Alcocer switched previously scheduled matches to compete against different opponents in the consolation draw.
"We gained valuable experience coming here and playing some of the best teams in the nation," said head coach Rolando Vargas. "We created opportunities and played at a very high level. We belong here, but unfortunately we couldn't close out matches."
On Sunday morning, Andres Pastor pivoted to face Georgia Tech's Gianluca Carlini in the singles consolation draw after being scheduled to play a Virginia player. He dropped the match against Carlini 6-1, 6-3.
After falling in a tightly contested doubles match against Memphis on Saturday, Andres Pastor and Alcocer played against Hawaii's Azuma Visaya and Timothy Li. The Trojans fell 6-3, 6-3, to the duo.
