Women’s Basketball Opens Sun Belt Play at Old Dominion

TROY, Ala. – Troy's next step on its 2025-26 journey begins Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. CT at Chartway Arena when it travels to Old Dominion to open Sun Belt Conference play.
The Trojans look to continue their historic 9-1 start (the best in Division I history) while attempting to open league play 1-0 for the first time since 2021-22, when they last won the SBC regular-season title.

Records Shattered
Troy broke program single-game records for 3-pointers (20), points (132) and assists (36) in a 70-point victory over Oakwood last Wednesday. Emani Jenkins went 10-of-14 from deep for a career-high 31 points, becoming the lone active Trojan with a 30-plus point game. Jenkins' 10 threes shattered Troy's program record for 3-pointers in a game and tied Nya Robertson (Tennessee) for the most in a Division-I game during the 2025-26 season.
Through 10 games on nonconference play, Troy ranks first in the SBC for assists (17.1), rebound margin (+11.2), defensive rebounds (30.9), offensive rebounds (17.2), total rebounds (48.1), scoring margin (+21.5), scoring (88.4) and win percentage (.900). Zay Dyer leads the league with five double-doubles while averaging 11.9 points and 12.2 rebounds. Jenkins ranks second nationally with 3.5 made 3-pointers per game on 45.5 percent shooting from long range.
On Feb. 5, 2025, Troy broke through for its first win, 83-80, over Old Dominion (7-3). Troy outscored ODU 20-10 in the second quarter and held on by outrebounding the opposition 52-36. Dyer shot 7-of-11 from the field for 19 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and a steal, while Fortuna Ngnawo came off the bench with 10 points in just 16 minutes, going 6-of-6 at the free-throw line.
Scouting Old Dominion
Old Dominion opens league play as the SBC leader in blocks with 7.2 per game. The Monarchs have held their opponents to 33.3 percent from the field, ranking 14th in the country. Despite ranking only 11th in the SBC in scoring offense (66.4), they rank third in points allowed at 57.9. Simaru Fields leads ODU with 11.8 points per game. Riley Stack (3.2), Laila Walker (1.3) and Simone Cunningham (1.2) each average more than one block per game.
