Troy Claims Multiple Top 10 Finishes at Azalea City Classic

Mobile, Ala. – Troy cross country captured multiple top 10 finishes Friday at the Azalea City Classic, with both the women's and men's teams placing third overall at Langan Park.
Caden Blackman led the Trojans with a third place finish in the men's 8k with a time of 22:58.0. Lane Watson followed close behind in fifth at 23:13.0, while Gavan Baxley (24:11.1) and Ethan Newsome (24:34.2) also cracked the top 20 in 13th and 18th. The men totaled 61 points to finish third in the team standings.
On the women's side, Makenna Calbert paced Troy with a fourth place finish in 18:28.5. Arianna Elder followed in seventh at 18:57.0, while seven Trojans earned top 20 finishes, including Lucy Turley (19:35.0), Abigail Carr (19:50.6), Aisley McMeen 20:20.1, Haley Wilson (20:45.5) and Reece Knowlton (20:47.3). The women scored 50 points to finish third overall as a team.
