Troy Women’s Basketball Set for Exhibition with AUM, Homecoming Pep Rally

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's basketball program sets up for its lone exhibition match against AUM on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. in Trojan Arena.
The exhibition serves as a tune-up for the Trojans' season opener against Toledo on Nov. 3. Troy enters the new campaign coming off a 24-14 overall record and a 13-5 mark in Sun Belt Conference play, finishing as the 2025 WNIT runner-up.
Tomorrow also marks the Homecoming Pep Rally for the Troy football program, which is preparing for its game against Arkansas State on Saturday at 7 p.m. During the event, Troy athletics will introduce the men's basketball team, announce the Mr. and Miss Trojan Pride winners, host in-game promotions with prizes and feature remarks from head football coach Gerad Parker at halftime.

Preseason Outlook
Troy was picked to finish third in the Sun Belt preseason poll, receiving one first-place vote. The top-three projection marks the 10th consecutive season the Trojans have been selected among the top three in the league's preseason rankings.
Of the returners, includes the Sun Belt Conference's defending rebound and double-double leader in Zay Dyer, who was selected to the Preseason All-SBC First Team. Senior guard Ashley Baez also returns after earning Preseason All-Sun Belt Third Team honors following a 2024-25 season where she averaged 9.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
Eight newcomers joined the Trojans, including Rachel Leggett, who transferred from South Alabama after posting 13.1 points on a team-high 54.1 percent shooting in 30 games to earn Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team. Of the eight newcomers, four are freshmen in Saniya Jackson, Jasmine Timmons, Lana Koricanac and Marianah Achol.

• Of the 13-women roster, Troy returned five players from the 2024-25 roster for eight newcomers in Detavia Salter, Saniya Jackson, Shakirah Edwards, Kamesha Moore, Lana Koricanac, Rachel Leggett, Jasmine Timmons and Marianah Achol.
• Despite recruiting four true freshman, the Trojans are still a highly-experienced team with eight upper-classmen, including seven seniors and one junior.
• For the first time since the 2021-22 season, the Trojans have no changes to their coaching staff as they bring back Chanda Rigby, Jennifer Graf, Stephanie Murphy and Grace Daniels for their second year all together.
