TROY, Ala. - After capturing a Sun Belt Tournament championship and making an NCAA Tournament appearance, the Troy men's basketball team returns to action Sunday to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in an exhibition game.Â
Head coach Scott Cross enters his seventh year at the helm of the Trojans. Cross has taken the program to new heights during his tenure – Troy is the only team in the Sun Belt to win 20 or more games each of the last four seasons.Â
Troy is not the same team that faced Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament this past March; the Trojans lost six players who saw action in that game but added four newcomers - two freshmen and two transfers - to round out the 2025–26 roster.Â

Back for MoreÂ
Troy returns seven letterwinners from last season's roster, highlighted by Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team selection Thomas Dowd. Dowd looks to take on a larger role after averaging 9.6 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game last season. Brothers Cooper and Cobi Campbell headline the Trojan backcourt, with Cooper coming off an impressive freshman year and Cobi set to make his Troy debut after missing last season due to injury. All in their third season as Trojans, Kerrington Kiel, Jerrell Bellamy, Theo Seng, and Victor Valdes are each expected to step into an expanded role in 2025–26.Â
Fresh FacesÂ
Troy welcomes four newcomers to Troy this season - two transfers and two freshmen - along with two additions to the coaching staff. Transfers Corbin Green (Texas Tech) and Javier Gilgeous-Glasgow (Toronto Metropolitan) bring experience and depth, while freshmen Emmanuel Clarton (Livingston, Ala.) and Javen Colbert (Decatur, Texas) add athleticism and scoring to the team. On the sidelines, Kaleb Canales joins as Associate Head Coach, and Scott Campbell comes aboard as an assistant coach.Â

Scouting GeorgiaÂ
Sunday will be Georgia's second exhibition game of the season. The Bulldogs defeated Georgia State 65-61 on Oct. 15. Tom Black enters his ninth season at the helm, having led the Bulldogs to a 144–106 record and two NCAA Tournament appearances, including last season. Georgia fell to Gonzaga in the first round of the tournament. The Bulldogs return their third-leading scorer from last season, Blue Cain. Cain averaged 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.Â
