Troy Wraps Up Competition at Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Troy track and field program had a successful weekend of competition at the Crimson Tide Invitational hosted by Alabama on Friday and Saturday, as it brought home four podium placements and a plethora of season-best performances.
Brooke Burns and Alejandra Gutierrez Fuente each recorded second-place finishes in their respective events. Burns, who competed in the women's hammer throw, had an impressive mark of 51.34m – just .67m off the top spot. Gutierrez Fuente has a season-best performance of 12.31m in the triple jump, which was .33m off first place.
Also, in the triple jump, Jordan Bailey and Camryn Pettus each had season-best showings to grab fifth and ninth place.
Tydreke Thomas had a good showing in the men's 100m, placing third with a time of 10.46s. The Trojans' final podium of the meet came late Saturday night, as Biniosa Ezukuse finished third in the women's shot put with a mark of 15.26m.
While he didn't record a podium, Cole Stewart performed well in the men's javelin as he set a new personal best with an impressive distance of 68.11m – good for fifth place. Altwayne Bedward finished fourth in the men's shot put. Javon Osbourne was fifth in the men's discus and sixth in the shot put.
Cadi Rowe finished just outside a podium spot in the women's 5000m, as her time of 17.14 was good for fourth place.
Up Next
The Trojans stay home next week as they host the Doc Anderson invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Jesse H. Colley Track inside the Troy Soccer Complex. This is the first time Troy has hosted a track and field meet since 2019.
