Track and Field Prepares for Doc Anderson Invitational at Home

TROY, Ala. – Troy track and field is all set for the third straight Doc Anderson Invitational in Troy at the Jesse H. Colley Soccer/ Track Complex from April 3-4.
The meet is set to begin Friday morning at 11 a.m. with the 100 meters, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400 meters for the men's decathlon. The women's heptathlon will begin shortly after with the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 meters.
The field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the men's hammer throw and the running events are set to begin in the evening at 5:15 p.m. with 400-meter hurdles.
The Trojans are looking to continue their momentum from the Terry Long Relays last weekend in Tallahassee, where they had 10 top three finishers, including four meet champions.
Aaliyah Murphy won the women's 400-meter hurdles in 59.17 to shatter her previous school record of 59.94. Murphy was also a part of the first place 4x400 quartet of Haley Wilson, Jasmine Jimenez and Rachel Whyte that set a new personal best of 3:41.99. Faith Jones also won the women's 100-meter hurdles in 13.66, setting another personal best for the second weekend in a row.
Ethan Forbes (1:50.21) and Jonas Koturenka (1:50.74) secured first and second in the men's 800-meters.
