Troy Men’s Tennis Hosts Coastal Carolina on Sunday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team closes out the regular season on Sunday when it hosts Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex; admission to all Troy tennis matches is free.
Troy (18-6, 3-4 SBC) is looking to bounce back from a tough weekend of league play last week that saw the Trojans drop a pair of matches to Georgia Southern and Georgia State. Troy has played extremely well at home this season, winning 11 of its 12 matches.
Seeding for next week's Sun Belt Conference Tournament is on the line as the Trojans are trying to avoid playing in Thursday's opening round matchup featuring the eighth and ninth-seeded teams. Troy enters the weekend in a tie for sixth place with South Alabama and a half-match up on Coastal Carolina.
It will be the final home matches for a pair of Troy seniors as Carles Anton and Benjamin Ambrosio suit up for the last time at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. The pair were honored at a match earlier this year.
Mario Martinez Serrano puts his 22-2 record on the line Sunday to lead the Trojans, while he and Luciano Alcocer have dominated as a pair in singles with a 13-1 mark. Noah Martens (17-5), Yeary Andres Pastor (16-4) and Alcocer (10-4) have also turned in strong spring seasons for head coach Rolando Vargas.
