Men's Tennis Blanks Coastal Carolina to Close Regular Season

TROY, Ala. – Troy dominated its final regular season match of the season, handing Coastal Carolina a 4-0 defeat on Sunday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex; the Trojans close out the season 12-1 at home as they now turn their attention to next week's Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
The Trojans (19-6, 4-4) breezed through doubles as Nicolas Simkin and Noah Martens won 6-1 on court one and the duo of Mario Martinez Serrano and Luciano Alcocer moved to 14-1 on the year with a 6-2 win on court three.
The story was much of the same in singles as the Trojans cruised to wins on courts one, four and six, dropping just a combined seven games over the three courts. Martinez improved to 23-2 on the year as he provided the clinching victory on court one, winning 6-0, 6-4.
Alcocer was the first to finish as he won on court six 6-2, 6-0 to improve to 11-4 on the year, while Yeary Andres Pastor pushed his record to 17-4 on the year with a 6-0, 6-1 victory on court four.
The bracket for the Sun Belt Tournament will be announced later Sunday evening as the Trojans will await their opponent for Friday's quarterfinals.
