TROY, Ala. โย After opening Sun Belt play on the road, the Troy men's tennis team returns home this weekend, where they haven't lost all season, for a pair of league matches against Louisiana and Southern Miss.ย

Troy (15-3, 1-1 SBC) hosts Louisiana (8-6, 1-0) on Saturday at 9 a.m. and then the Trojans welcome Southern Miss (5-4, 1-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The match against the Golden Eagles on Sunday will be Senior Day for the Trojans, as head coach Rolando Vargas will honor Carles Anton, Nicolas Simkin and Benjamin Ambrosio.

The Trojans split their matches on the road trip to open league play, dropping a tight 4-2 contest at No. 48 Old Dominion before knocking off James Madison, 4-1.

Vargas' squad enters the weekend winners in all nine of their home matches this season and 10 straight dating back to last season. Troy is looking to avenge a close loss to the Cajuns last season, where the Trojans won the doubles point but lost four of the singles matches to fall 4-3; Troy's only loss in the last two seasons (29-1) when winning the doubles point.ย

Troy has opened by winning the doubles point in six of the last seven matches, thanks to a new lineup deployed by Vargas, which has Noah Martens and Simkin playing on court one, Anton and Yeray Andres Pastor playing on court two and Mario Martinez Serrano and Luciano Alcocer playing on court three, which has produced a 17-3 mark in eight matches.

Martinez is 17-1 on the year in singles on court one to lead the Trojans, who have a .747 winning percentage as a team in singles. Anton (8-7), Martens (14-3), Pastor (14-2), Simkin (4-1) and Alcocer (8-2) rounded out the lineup for Troy in the win at James Madison.

The Cajuns have won six straight matches, including a 5-2 win over South Florida (which Troy defeated earlier this year in Tampa) and a 4-3 victory over No. 56 Charlotte. However, ULL is 0-5 on the road this year.

Southern Miss has dropped two of its last three matches following a four-match winning streak, it's longest of the year. The Golden Eagles are 1-3 on the road and have lost four straight to Troy, dating back to the 2020 season.
