GREENVILLE, N.C. – Troy tied for eighth at the rain-shorted Pirate Collegiate Classic, hosted by East Carolina at the Greenville Country Club. Teams were only able to play 36 of the scheduled 54 holes due to inclement weather during Monday's opening day of play.

Laura Fangmeyer shot up the leaderboard in the second round into a tie for 23^rd place, thanks to a 2-under 70, as she played a relatively clean round with birdies on the eighth, 15^th and 18^th with just one bogey on her card for her second round under par this season.

Troy tied for eighth with Memphis after rounds of 298 and 303, while High Point claimed the team title with a 574 tally over the 36 holes. East Carolina was three shots back in second, followed by UNC Greensboro, Radford and Wofford in the top five.

Katelynn Altese shot 2-over in the first rounds, with three birdies on her card, and finished tied for 32^nd overall at 7-over with teammate Victoria Stutts, who shot 3-over in the first round with a pair of birdies and added two more birdies in a round of 4-over in the second run through the course.

Alyssa Mercado and Manya Saini tied for 51^st place at 11-over; Mercado finished the week with a pair of birdies, while Saini had three over her two rounds.

The Trojans will be back in action Oct. 14-15 for the Lady Red Wolves Classic at the Sage Meadows Country Club in Jonesboro, Ark.
