Gracia Leads Men's Golf on Day Two of Graeme McDowell

ONEONTA, Ala. – Troy freshman Pablo Gracia shot a 3-under 69 to lead Troy in Monday's second round of the Graeme McDowell Invitational at the Limestone Springs Golf Club. Troy slipped into a tie for seventh on the leaderboard but are just nine shots out of a top-three finish.

Gracia played a near-clean round with four birdies and 13 pars over his first 17 holes of the day, with all four birdies coming on the par-5 offerings on the course. His lone misstep came on the 456-yard, par-4 18^th, where he bogeyed to drop his card to 3-under, which moved him into a tie for 21^st place.

Host-UAB shot 20-under par Monday to race into the lead by eight shots over Lamar, while Jacksonville State is third at 7-under; Troy is tied for seventh with ULM and Southern Illinois at 2-over.

Jake Springer and Laurenz Kubin are tied for 24^th place at 1-over par through two rounds after rounds of 72 and 75, respectively. The pair each carded three birdies on the day, while Brantley Scott is a shot back in a tie for 29^th place after he shot 2-over with three birdies. Gage Carnes shot 4-over on the day and is tied for 55^thplace and Will Simpson is tied for 61^st place playing as an individual.

Play concludes tomorrow morning with the final 18 holes.
