CHOUDRANT, La. – Troy is five shots under-par as a team through two rounds of the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club and the Trojans find themselves in a tie for ninth place on a jumbled leaderboard.

The Trojans are just five shots back of Southern Miss and Rice, who sit in a tie for second place, while South Alabama leads at 15-under through 36 holes. Troy shot 4-under in Sunday's opening round and shot 1-under on Monday.

Troy has done its damage on the par-5s, shooting 18-under as a team through the first two rounds, fifth-best in the field, led by freshman Thomas Crane's 6-under, tops in the field. Crane is also tied for best in the field with 11 birdies through 36 holes.

Pablo Gracia is Troy's clubhouse leader at 4-under, with seven birdies and an eagle on his card through two rounds. He is tied for 13^th place and just three shots off the pace, one shot ahead of teammate Lee Poppell, who is 3-under after rounds of 70 and 71, with eight birdies.

Crane has dazzled in his first collegiate appearance as he's 2-under par thanks to his 11 birdies, good for a tie for 24^th place. Grant Yerger bounced back from a 4-over in the first round to shoot 1-over Monday to move into a tie for 72^nd place, while Landon Noble is tied for 91^st place at 10-over.

Troy plays its final round along with North Texas and UAB beginning at 10 a.m.
