Troy Season Peaks with Sun Belt Outdoor Championship

TROY, Ala. – The Troy track & field outdoor season comes to the pinnacle with the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship from May 11-13 at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
On Thursday, Troy begins its championship pursuit with Kady Schwietz competing in the heptathlon event at 12:15 p.m. Thursday continues to the women's 10,000m at 7:30 p.m. with Cadi Rowe and Summer Williams. Friday opens with the continuation of the heptathlon at 11 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. in the women's 3,000m steeplechase (Lauren Locke). Championship Saturday begins with Narissa Clay in the discus throw and concludes in the women's 4x400m relay as Kasia Cooper, Maya Kelly, Kyra Dalluge, Alexandria Rankin and Schwietz compete.

The Trojans competed in seven meets during the outdoor season, seizing eight first-place finishes on the women's side and 12 for the men. They also had two Sun Belt Field Athletes of the Week in Jaggerd Moore and Javon Osbourne.
Moore and Osbourne combined for six of the 12 wins for the men while totaling 11 podium finishes. As a freshman, Moore peaked at the Penn Relays when he defeated his competitors for the gold medal at 2.02m. Osbourne won in both the shot and discus events, breaking the Troy program record for the discus throw with a 58.47m throw at the USF Challenge.
Biniosa Ezukuse joined Osborne with two record-breaking performances in 2023 for the women's shot put event. The junior initially broke it at the USF Challenge with a throw of 15.16m. However, Ezukuse outdid herself two weeks later at the Crimson Tide Invitational when she claimed seventh on a final throw of 15.65m.
