Faith Jones Sets New Record at the UAB Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Faith Jones set a school record in the women's 60-meter hurdles at the UAB Invite.
Jones ran a personal best time of 8.48 to break the 18-year old record of 8.51, set by Monique Johnson in 2007. Jones ran a time of 8.64 in the prelims to advance to the final, where she placed second and moved up to No. 1 on Troy's all-time list.
Jonas Koturenka ran a blazing time of 1:52.77 to win the men's 800m and set a new meet record. He also improved his mark on the Troy all-time list from 1:53.01.
Rachel Whyte completed the sprint triple, competing in the 60, 200 and 400 meters. Whyte ran a 7.60 in the 60-meter prelim before improving to a 7.51 in the final to place fourth overall. She also posted a season-best time of 56.83 in the 400 meters and placed sixth in the 200 with a time of 24.48.
The Trojans return to action next Friday at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn.
